A meeting was held in Baku between the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, and the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev.
According to “Tehsil365”, citing Report, the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth stated that the meeting focused on reforms in the education systems of both countries, current cooperation, and future priorities.
During the meeting, Givi Mikanadze noted that Georgia is implementing several initiatives to support Azerbaijani students, teachers, and pupils. These include programs aimed at strengthening language instruction in schools and increasing financial support for students in higher education institutions.
The parties paid special attention to expanding cooperation in the development of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. The Azerbaijani side proposed the establishment of a STEAM center in Georgia. Givi Mikanadze emphasized his support for his Azerbaijani counterpart’s proposal in this field.
The meeting also addressed the reactivation of the joint working group comprising representatives from both countries’ education ministries. It was announced that the working group will begin its activities starting in August this year.
At the end of the meeting, Givi Mikanadze invited Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, to visit Georgia.
