At the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025), held in Sucre, the capital of Bolivia, our team was awarded 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals, and 1 honorable mention.
According to the Ministry of Science and Education, as reported by "Tehsil365", Ayxan Demirli, an 11th-grade student of the Zarifa Aliyeva Lyceum in Baku, was awarded the silver medal; Hasan Valiyev, a 10th-grade student of School No. 157 in Baku, and Elvin Imanli, an 11th-grade student of the Physics, Mathematics and Informatics Lyceum in Baku, were awarded bronze medals; and Ali Aliyev, an 11th-grade student of the Ankara Lyceum in Baku, received an honorable mention.
Our school students have been participating in the mentioned Olympiad since 1994. Between 1994–1999, they won 2 medals; between 2000–2009, 2 medals; between 2010–2019, 1 medal; and between 2020–2025, they won 11 medals.
It should be noted that by winning 1 silver, 2 bronze medals, and 1 honorable mention in the current academic year, our students have achieved the highest result in the history of our country. Additionally, two of our students ranked among the top 100 schoolchildren in the world.
In recent years, the preparation process for international Olympiads in informatics has been carried out within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Education, the Institute of Education, and “Azercell Telekom” LLC.
