The U.S.-based artificial intelligence startup Perplexity AI has reportedly made a $34.5 billion offer to acquire Google Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser.
According to “Tehsil365”, citing foreign sources, the company, which has been operating for only three years, has received investments from major figures such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and chip manufacturer Nvidia.
However, some technology investors have described the offer as a “move for publicity,” noting that the amount is far below Chrome’s actual value. It is currently unclear whether Google has put Chrome up for sale.
Experts suggest that Chrome’s real value could be up to ten times higher than the proposed offer.
