The fourth International Spring School on “Quality of Education and the Convergence of Cultures” was opened in Almaty, organized by the International Center for the Convergence of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO. This year’s event is themed “United Pages: Towards the Revival of Reading Culture.”
According to information published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta via “Tehsil365”, the event brings together teachers from across Eurasia. Olzhas Suleimenov, co-chair of the Council of Elders of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia, emphasized that sustainable international security and social integration are impossible without cultural rapprochement. He noted that people of different nations should develop a universal planetary consciousness, free from biases and stereotypes.
The Spring School program includes leading international experts, scholars, and renowned teachers. Sessions focus on topics such as reading culture, the revival of literate societies, effective intercultural dialogue in educational settings, and enhancing teachers’ research skills.
Participants highlighted the importance of intercultural communication and stressed the necessity for people from diverse cultures to possess strong communication skills. Practical application of innovative approaches in education and the professional development of teachers are among the main objectives of the event.
The Spring School is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of Abai, the founder of Kazakh literature, and the 50th anniversary of the publication of the renowned poet Olzhas Suleimenov’s book Az i Ya.
The event also provides an opportunity for teachers, scholars, and innovative teaching communities from different educational levels to collaborate. This contributes to improving the quality of the educational process and fostering intercultural dialogue.
