A book titled "Qala Adam" has been published on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Rashad Majid, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union, Editor-in-Chief of 525th Newspaper, and Honored Cultural Worker.
According to “Tehsil365”, the book, edited by Honored Journalist Yusif Rzayev, primarily covers the last five years of Rashad Majid’s artistic and publicistic work.
"Qala Adam" includes essays, articles, and impressionistic writings authored by Rashad Majid between 2019 and 2024, as well as reflections and scholarly-artistic analyses on his various texts by prominent scientists and writers.
The book’s compiler, writer-publicist Nadir Yalchin, shares his general thoughts on the creation of the book and the collected texts in the foreword titled “How Does a Man Become a Fortress?”
The first section of the book, “Writings Without a Pen”, is followed by the second section, “About Writings Without a Pen”, which compiles reflections on Rashad Majid’s status-essays. Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Professor Asif Hacılı, poet, translator, and PhD in Philology Gismat Rustamov, Turkish writer-poet and translator Imdat Avşar, and Turkish literary scholar Bakhtiyar Aslan share their views on the significance and role of publishing these status-essays in the history of publicistic thought.
Two other sections focus on Rashad Majid’s trip to Shusha. The section “See What Shusha Does” features the essay of the same title, while the section called “Shusha Notebook” presents a series of poems capturing the moods and impressions Shusha inspired in the author.
In the section “Son Rashad Majid, Grandson Rashad Majid”, the author is partially revealed as a son and grandson through the eyes of his grandmother, aunt, and mother. These narratives were written by poet-publicist Shahane Mushfiq.

The section “Writing Gifts for the 60th” contains jubilee writings. In essays dedicated to his 60th anniversary, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Professor Vilayet Guliyev, writer-essayist Fakhri Ugurlu, poet Vagif Bahmenli, and essayist Sevinc Murvetqi present portraits and insights into Rashad Majid.
Articles and essays written in the last five years about Rashad Majid’s work are also published in “About Rashad Majid’s Word”. Contributors include Professor Jahangir Mammadli, writer-publicist Logman Rashidzade, Honored Journalist Aflatun Amashov, Turkish writer Imdat Avşar, poet-publicist Shahane Mushfiq, writer-essayist Turkan Turan, and poet Shefa Valin, who discuss various aspects of Majid’s literary creativity, the poetic qualities of his poems, and how these aspects influence his publicistic work.
The final section of “Qala Adam” is titled “Conversations of 60 Years”. In an interview titled “I Spent a Night on the Agdam-Baku Train”, Rashad Majid, visiting Lachin and Agdam for the first time after their liberation, recalls past memories and shares his feelings after the Victory.
