Based on the decision of the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States dated October 8, 2024, the city of Lachin, located in the East Zangazur economic region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been declared the “Cultural Capital of the CIS” for 2025.
According to “Tehsil365”, on this occasion, the “CIS Youth Camp” and the “CIS International Film Days” will be held in Lachin from August 25 to 29, 2025. The project is dedicated to August 26 – “Lachin City Day.”
The events will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS Member States, and the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA).
Within the camp, participants from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan will take part in working groups focused on creative industries, develop and present joint project ideas, and attend masterclasses in theater, arts, and media creativity.
During the “CIS International Film Days,” one film from each country will be screened with Azerbaijani subtitles.
These international projects held in Lachin will make a significant contribution to cooperation among CIS youth, strengthen intercultural dialogue, and foster new creative initiatives.
