The opening of the house-museum of Saadat Omar gizi Abdullayeva (Saadat Buta) — a well-known poet, one of the founders of the Ashig Pari Assembly, and the author of 19 books — was held in Gizilkilsa village of the Dmanisi district, Georgia.
According to “Tehsil365”, the ceremony was attended by guests from the capital Tbilisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Bolnisi, and other districts, as well as from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan, alongside government officials and cultural figures.
The mayor of Dmanisi, Koba Muradashvili, cut the symbolic red ribbon to open the museum and congratulated Saadat Buta. He noted that the museum will not only serve as a place to preserve the poet’s books, personal belongings, awards, and valuable gifts, but also become a center of literature, art, and culture.
Afterward, participants toured the museum, familiarizing themselves with photographs, the awards received by the poet, her authored books, and other exhibits. Speakers highlighted Saadat Buta’s life and creativity, as well as her contributions to the development of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. It was emphasized that the museum will also serve as an educational center for the younger generation.
Expressing her gratitude for the support, attention, and care shown for the opening of the museum, Saadat Buta stated that establishing such a cultural center in the remote Dmanisi district of Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli region is a clear example of Azerbaijan–Georgia friendship. According to her, the museum will inspire the younger generation to develop a greater interest in poetry and the art of saz and söz. It was noted that the museum, which houses over 200 books and artifacts, will become a true place of pilgrimage for both Georgians and Azerbaijanis and will always remain open to tourists visiting the region.
It should be noted that poet Saadat Buta was born in 1951 in Gizilkilsa village of the Dmanisi municipality. In 2001, she was awarded the “Order of Honor” by the President of Georgia on the occasion of her 50th anniversary. She is also the founder of the organization “Buta of Saz and Word.”
