Next year, the opening of a permanent representative office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau in China is planned.
According to “Tehsil365”, the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Nagiyev, stated this at an event dedicated to the presentation of the “China Ready” program held in Baku.
“The development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and China is also reflected in the field of tourism. The agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries, signed in Beijing this April, is the clearest example of this process. Naturally, the facilitation of visa-free travel for our citizens will directly contribute to the increase of tourist flows. It will also boost business activity in the tourism sector and contribute to the expansion of economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties.
Since the early years of the State Tourism Agency’s establishment, China has been among our priority markets. To promote Azerbaijan’s tourism potential in China, various activities have been carried out to date. These include participation in international tourism exhibitions and events held in China, a series of presentation events in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu, cooperation meetings with representatives of the tourism industry and media, as well as marketing activities on online platforms,” Fuad Nagiyev added.
He also noted that the increase in the number of direct flights between the two countries is another positive development.
