The closing ceremony of the “CIS Youth Camp” was held in the city of Lachin.
According to “Tehsil365”, Masim Mammadov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lachin District, noted in his speech that the project contributed to promoting Lachin — this year’s “Cultural Capital of the CIS” — at the international level.
He emphasized that, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, large-scale infrastructure projects are being implemented in Lachin District, just like in other territories liberated from occupation. It was highlighted that all the necessary conditions have been created in Lachin for the development of youth talents and skills, as well as for the effective organization of their leisure time. Newly established facilities such as a film studio, creative center, and galleries play an important role in revitalizing the city’s cultural environment.
Masim Mammadov also expressed his gratitude to the organizations supporting international cultural projects in Lachin and to the creative youth who participated in the event.
Farrukh Cumayev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Culture, stated that the youth camp dedicated to August 26 – Lachin City Day not only contributes to cultural integration among CIS countries but also plays a role in developing the creative environment in Lachin, which is being revived by the Azerbaijani state.
Rafael Hajibeyli, Chairman of the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA); Elvira Dolya, Deputy Executive Director of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS; and Orduxan Qahramanzade, representative of the Youth Foundation of Azerbaijan, also delivered speeches highlighting the importance of the project.
It was stressed that such initiatives create opportunities for expanding cooperation among creative youth and serve as a platform for generating new ideas.
Later, participants watched video clips dedicated to Lachin being declared the “Cultural Capital of the CIS” and to the youth camp.
At the end, certificates were awarded to young people from Azerbaijan and abroad who took part in the camp, as well as to the volunteers who contributed to the implementation of the project.
The ceremony concluded with a cultural program.
It should be noted that the camp was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS, and the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Youth from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan participated in the camp. Within the framework of Lachin City Day, the “International Cinema Days of the CIS Countries” was also held.
