A Contract Signed with Austrian Company “Atelier Erich Pummer GmbH” for the Restoration and Conservation of the Momine Khatun Mausoleum.
According to Tehsil365, the information was shared by a representative of the Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Mammad Huseynli, in an interview with NAXCIVANXƏBƏRLƏRİ.
According to him, international cooperation has been established to preserve the Momine Khatun Mausoleum, one of the rare monuments of the Nakhchivan-Maragha architectural school, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Based on the agreement, on August 5, 2025, a team from the company arrived in Nakhchivan, and infrastructure work around the monument began.
“On September 24, 2024, the company's director, Erich Pummer, and the team carried out an initial inspection of the mausoleum and conducted measurement and research work,” he stated.
Subsequently, on December 13, 2024, the plan and report prepared by the company leadership were submitted in both printed and electronic formats. The report provides a detailed overview of the current condition of the mausoleum.
Speaking about the financing of the restoration project, Huseynli noted that 1 million AZN has initially been allocated from the Presidential Reserve Fund to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the 2025 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that “Atelier Erich Pummer GmbH” was founded by German citizen Erich Pummer and has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2009. Over the years, the company has participated in the restoration of numerous historical monuments such as the “Maiden Tower”, “Gosha Gala Gate”, “Palace of the Shirvanshahs”, as well as the “Bukhara” and “Multani” caravanserais, and the “Baylar Mosque”.
