Three representatives of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ADNSU) – Director of the Digital Development and Innovation Center Elviz Ismayilov, Rector’s Advisor Orkhan Karimzade, and Lecturer of the Department of Mechanics Mahmud Ismayilov – have been selected as members of the jury for the prestigious “Oxford Saïd Global Climate Change Challenge 2025” international competition.
According to the University, as reported by “Tehsil365”, the jury consists of 25 members representing 15 different countries. The countries with the highest number of representatives are the United Kingdom (5), Azerbaijan (3), and India (3). Azerbaijan is represented solely by ADNSU’s delegates – Elviz Ismayilov, Mahmud Ismayilov, and Orkhan Karimzade.
Organized by the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford, this global competition brings together school students (aged 15–18) and their teachers from around the world to develop innovative solutions for combating climate change. It is held in preparation for the UN COP30 Climate Conference (Brazil, November 2025).
ADNSU academics, serving alongside the world’s leading climate experts, business leaders, and scientists on the international jury, will evaluate the projects submitted by participants. Their expertise and knowledge will play a key role in identifying the most impactful and innovative climate solutions developed by young people.
It should be noted that the competition, first held in 2024, received more than 1,000 applications from 58 countries. In 2025, the five winning student teams will present their projects in Oxford in September, while the five winning teachers will showcase their lesson plans at COP30. Winners will be offered fully funded educational and program opportunities. Participants will present their solutions on topics such as air pollution, extreme weather events, food security, water scarcity, and biodiversity.
ADNSU’s successful representation on this international platform is a testament to the university’s active participation in global climate discussions and the development of innovative solutions.
