At the Azerbaijan Pavilion of the “Expo 2025” World Exhibition held in Osaka, a presentation dedicated to Azerbaijani–Japanese scientific and cultural relations was organized.

According to Tehsil365, the information was provided by the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS.

The main speaker of the event, PhD in Philology Gulnar Yunusova, a leading researcher at the Institute of Literature, delivered a presentation titled “Science and Culture in the Independent Republic of Azerbaijan: Development of Azerbaijani–Japanese Scientific and Cultural Relations.”

In her speech, it was emphasized that after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence, the development of science and culture became one of the priority directions of state policy, with a special focus on the role of ANAS in this process. Gulnar Yunusova noted that ANAS is not only a scientific institution but also a temple of science preserving the spiritual and intellectual heritage of the nation.

The presentation also provided information about initiatives implemented under the leadership of ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbayli, aimed at the international integration of Azerbaijani science. It was noted that introducing Azerbaijan’s classical literary heritage, promoting modern scientific research on a global scale, and conducting joint research with Japanese scholars form the strategic basis of this cooperation.

The historical stages of Azerbaijani–Japanese scientific and cultural relations, events held during the independence period, mutual visits, and joint publications were also discussed.

Participants’ questions on the directions of Azerbaijani science and culture, cooperation with Japan in the field of science, mutual interests, and opportunities for new projects were answered.

In the cultural segment of the event, Minara Shukurova, a promoter of Azerbaijani culture in Japan, gave a presentation about national costumes, music, and dances of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that “Expo Osaka,” where Azerbaijan is represented with a special pavilion, began on April 13, 2025, and will continue until October 13.
