The solo exhibition “Magnificent Baku” by the renowned Azerbaijani artist Chingiz Abasov was presented to the public at the Hämeenlinna City Library in Finland.
According to Tehsil365, citing AZƏRTAC, Təranə Nəzərova, the chairperson of the Azerbaijan-Finland Friendship Society, noted that hosting the exhibition within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” carries special significance. The works on display reflect the beauty, spirit, and contemporary face of Baku. Having lived in Finland for 30 years, the artist considers himself a cultural ambassador, promoting Azerbaijani culture throughout this period.
According to Abasov, “Even though I have lived far from my homeland for decades, I have always tried to convey the richness of Azerbaijani culture and the humanistic values of our people through my art in the countries where I live.”
Chingiz Abasov has continued his creative work not only abroad but also in Azerbaijan. His latest monumental work, the painting “Karabakh – 30 Years and 44 Days”, was completed in Baku in 2021 and is dedicated to the victory in the Second Karabakh War. This work immortalizes our people’s struggle and triumph in art, serving both as a preservation of historical memory and a symbol of confidence in the future.
The activities of such artists, who introduce Azerbaijani culture to the world and are considered the pride of our diaspora, are a source of national pride.
