New studios will be opened at six universities in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Novgorod: MIPT, Sechenov University, Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University, Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Novosibirsk National Research State University, and Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University.
According to “Tehsil365”, citing Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the winners of the competition organized by the RUSNANO Group’s Infrastructure and Education Programs Fund (FIEP) together with the Russian Ministry of Education and Science will receive funding for the studios and sign investment agreements.
Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, stated that the establishment of university studios in the country is of great importance. According to her, these studios will strengthen the connection between university science and business and create new platforms for the development of technological projects.
The main goal of the enterprise studios is to promote technological initiatives among university students and support the creation of new companies based on the latest scientific developments.
Currently, 21 university studios are operating in Russia, where more than 380 technological projects are being developed, many of which have attracted the interest of industrial partners. According to the results of the new competition, six new studios will be added to the network this year, with the total expected to reach 50 by 2030.
Alexey Tikhonov, CEO of the Advanced Research Fund, noted that enterprise studios create special opportunities for turning ideas into reality and commercializing them at universities. Here, young people learn modern startup creation methods, receive expert support, and develop sustainable business models.
The new studios are ready to create projects in promising fields such as biotechnology, medicine, drone development, aviation, and space technologies.
