The first Asian “Silk Way Star” vocal competition will be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
According to “Tehsil365”, citing the Kazinform agency, this was announced at a press conference held at the “Kazmedia Ortalygy” studio on the eve of the launch of the international music project.
Participants from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and other countries will take part in the competition.
The show is being organized as part of the agreement on the creation of the “Silk Way Star” international project between the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China’s “CMG” Media Corporation. The agreement was signed during the official visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to Astana on June 16 this year, with the participation of the heads of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping.
Filming of the music show will begin on August 20. The grand final will take place on November 22 and will be broadcast live on the Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV channel as well as on leading television channels in participating countries.
The project consists of 10 episodes: nine pre-recorded shows and a live grand finale. Viewers can expect unique duets, performances of national hits, cross-cultural collaborations, and emotional stories from the participants. Each episode will last over 100 minutes, and broadcasts are planned in Kazakh, Chinese, and English.
Voting will follow an international scoring system ranging from 1 to 12 points. In the first nine episodes, decisions will be made by a panel of professional judges from China and Central Asian countries. In the grand final, the winner will be determined by a combination of votes: 50% from the jury and 50% from the audience.
During the selection stages, one contestant will be eliminated in episodes 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8. Only seven artists will make it to the final: the top five based on voting results and two representatives from the host country.
Azerbaijan will be represented by singer and actress, and The Voice of Azerbaijan semifinalist, Sabina Guluzade (Sabina Zade).
The spectacular grand finale of “Silk Way Star” will be held as a live show with international broadcasting and is set to become one of the brightest music events of the year. The winner will receive the “Silk Way Star” title and the opportunity to present their work on the global stage.
