Member of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, Honored Art Worker, and recipient of the “Order of Honor,” V. Babanli, passed away today at the age of 98.

It should be noted that Vidadi Babanli was born on January 5, 1927, in the village of Birinci Shikhli, Gazakh district. He studied at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University). He worked as a literary employee at the editorial offices of Azerbaijan Teacher newspaper and Literature Newspaper, later serving as head of department. He was acting chief editor at the dubbing department of the Jafar Jabbarli “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio and deputy editor-in-chief at “Yazichi” Publishing House.
His first published work was the poem “You Became My Mother”, which appeared in 1947 in Azerbaijan Youth newspaper. V. Babanli was an honorary member of the “Gazakh” Charity Public Union and a personal pensioner of the President.
