The Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation has carried out a large-scale international project

From August 13 to 15, with the support of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, international events focusing on tourism, culture, education and youth policy were held in the Ayirtau District and the city of Petropavl in the North Kazakhstan region.

According to information provided to “Tehsil365” by the Foundation, the main events included the III International Artists’ Symposium, the grand opening of the “Magjan Center,” the presentation of the book Our Magjan published by the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, as well as a scientific-practical conference on “Botai – The Great Steppe Culture.”

Within the program, Ermek Kosherbayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan; Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education; Erjan Erkinbayev, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports; and Yevgeni Kochetov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information, visited the region to familiarize themselves with the exhibitions. They met with scholars from three countries, as well as young archaeologists and artists from 12 countries. The development of tourism, preservation of cultural heritage, and prospects for international cooperation were also discussed.

During the events, the delegation from the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation held meetings with partner organizations, supporting the promotion of Botai cultural heritage on international scientific and creative platforms, as well as strengthening coordination among representatives from Turkic countries.

The presentation of the book Our Magjan, published in seven languages by the Foundation, was held at a high level and became a significant cultural event. The publication is intended for readers interested in the past, present, and future of Kazakhstan, and for those who hold deep respect for their homeland and the Turkic world. The book covers the life, contributions to society, and rich creative legacy of the great Kazakh poet Magjan Jumabayev. It presents Magjan not only as a literary figure but also as a symbol of the shared cultural heritage of Turkic peoples, introducing readers to his ideals of national identity and freedom.

The spirit of Botai culture and the legacy of Magjan Jumabayev will continue to inspire future generations, uniting the past, present, and future of the Turkic world within a single cultural space. The study of Botai culture, including ancient horse-riding traditions and the unique material and cultural artifacts of the Eneolithic period, holds special significance not only for Kazakhstan but also for the civilizational memory of the entire Turkic world.

The week-long program, organized in partnership with the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region, aimed to showcase the region’s cultural and tourism potential, promote scientific exchange, and strengthen creative cooperation.
