The 4th National Yaylag Festival was held in the Goygol district with the aim of promoting Azerbaijan’s national and spiritual values, preserving yaylag and nomadic culture, and introducing it on an international scale.

According to “Tehsil365”, an 18-member delegation from neighboring Georgia took part in the festival.

As part of the projects of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, the “Alliance” Youth Center operating in Tbilisi, the “Ceyran” Dance Ensemble, Ashiq Nargila and Ashiq Afgan, well-known Georgian singer Dito Kisishvili, and the Georgian choir group “Shemokhmiandi” joined the celebration.

Leyla Amrahova, head of the “Alliance” Youth Center, stated that the festival is an event that showcases and preserves Azerbaijan’s traditional yaylag culture. The “Alliance” Youth Center also presented handicrafts made by its members, while the songs performed by the Georgian choir group were enthusiastically welcomed by the audience.

“Our delegation performed dances and ashig music. I hope the participation of the Georgian delegation in the festival will contribute to strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and further develop our shared nomadic traditions,” Amrahova emphasized.

It should be noted that an ethnovillage called “Yaylag Yurdu” was created in Khan Yaylag in an original style.

Visitors toured the ethnovillage, which included residential yurts (tents), Jidir Square, the “Yaylag Market” (agricultural products), the “Handicrafts Corner,” the “Dede Gorgud Hearth” (stage for performances), the “Yaylag Pasture” (for livestock), “Pahlavan Square” (sports arena), the “Ashiq Alesger Hearth,” the “Yaylag Table” (culinary corner), and other spaces. Guests enjoyed performances by ethnic music groups, local ensembles, ashig duels, national dances, folk songs, cultural samples of ethnic minorities living in Azerbaijan, theatrical sketches, ancient folk games, handicrafts, and traditional costumes.

As part of the event, a mobile “Healthy Life” project was also organized, which attracted great interest from participants. Sports enthusiasts, especially children, joined in the activities and had an enjoyable time.

Over the three days, the festival showcased the ethnovillage “Yaylag Yurdu” in Khan Yaylag, where athletes demonstrated exciting performances in various traditional ethnic sports.
