The Turkmenistan Summit gave a new impetus to the Unity of the Turkic World

Within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Turkmenistan, a trilateral meeting was held with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The meeting is considered a significant contribution to the unity of the Turkic world from political, economic, and spiritual perspectives.

According to “Tehsil365”, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova made this statement.

President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Turkmenistan in August 2025 was not limited to diplomatic and strategic agendas. The visit also demonstrated the deepening of unity among the Turkic-speaking states, built upon their common historical, cultural, and spiritual roots.

During the trilateral meeting attended by President Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the Turkmen People’s Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a number of important documents were signed.

Among these documents, the memorandum on cooperation regarding the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, agreements on information and technology exchange in the energy sector, as well as cooperation in agriculture and food security, hold particular importance.

Muradova emphasized that these agreements unite the economic and logistical potential of the Turkic world, support the application of alternative energy and sustainable development principles in the region, and contribute to strengthening food security and expanding trade relations.

Through Azerbaijan’s initiatives, integration projects connecting Central Asia and the Caucasus strengthen interdependence among the Turkic states and reinforce regional stability.

She added that the unshakable foundation of this growing unity lies in shared spirit, culture, and values. The peoples of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have, for centuries, drawn strength from the same roots, beliefs, language, and cultural environment.

“Today, we are signing official documents, yet the signatures that unite us were carved in history long ago—in the advice of Dede Korkut, in the verses of Magtymguly, and in the literary bridges stretching from Nizami to Navoi. Our peoples have celebrated Novruz together, united in the same prayers during Eid al-Adha, woven carpets with the same patterns, and grown up listening to the same epics. On this shared memory, we are not only strategic partners who seize the opportunities of time, but also a great family bound by unbreakable ties,” Bahar Muradova stressed.

In his speech, President Ilham Aliyev noted that “The Turkic world is both a spiritual center of power and a significant force in international relations.” Today, the coming together of leaders for common goals takes relations to a new level politically, culturally, and historically.

Muradova further added that the signed documents and the steps taken are meant to leave behind for future generations a legacy of a more closely connected Turkic world. “This unity is both our strength and our responsibility,” she said.

“The trilateral cooperation platform established among Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, in line with the goals and principles of the Organization of Turkic States, not only addresses the challenges of today but also contributes to the building of a stronger, more prosperous, and more powerful Turkic world of tomorrow.”

In conclusion, Bahar Muradova stated:

“It can be said with confidence that the unity built on this foundation is the most reliable guarantee of our common successful future.”
