No one lives in these villages in Azerbaijan

Among the 4,244 villages in Azerbaijan, an interesting picture emerges in terms of population.

According to the latest calculations by the State Statistics Committee, as reported by Tehsil365, there are villages in Azerbaijan with only a few residents:

Ismayilli District: Pirqəm village (2 people), Gərzə (3 people), Dahar (5 people)

Neftchala District: Qızqayıtdı village (3 people)

Siyazan District: Əlməkolu village (4 people)

Khizi District: Güneyqışlaq village (5 people)

There is a significant difference between the largest and smallest villages in terms of population. The most populous settlement in the country is Ərkivan town in Masalli District, with 15,654 residents.

There are also villages in Azerbaijan that have been completely abandoned for various reasons, meaning no one lives there. These include Göyəmtala, Darvazbinə, Abjit, Mazımqarışan in Balakan District; Çərəlilər in Barda District; Novoqolovka in Jalilabad; Xaraxoba in Khachmaz; and İbrahimhaput in Guba. Although these settlements still retain village status, there are currently no permanent residents living there.
