In line with the call made by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, at the ceremony dedicated to the 2024 sporting results, regular visits of representatives of the sports community to the liberated territories continue.
According to “Tehsil365”, on August 23–24, Azerbaijan’s Olympic judo champions Elnur Mammadli, Hidayat Heydarov, and Zelim Kotsoyev visited the cities of Khankendi, Shusha, Lachin, and Fuzuli.
As part of the visit, the athletes first toured Karabakh University in Khankendi, where they learned about the history and activities of the institution. They then visited the Khankendi stadium to observe the ongoing construction work. In the city of Shusha, the Olympic champions met with local residents and schoolchildren, visited Jidir Plain and the Shusha Fortress, and engaged in warm conversations with the youth, presenting them with autographed photos.
On the second day of the trip, the champion athletes met with schoolchildren in the Seyrangah area of Lachin and later with young athletes on the banks of the Hakari River. Afterwards, they visited School No. 1 in Fuzuli, where they held a meeting with students and toured the school gym. During the event, quizzes and various competitions were organized.
These visits, initiated and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aim to increase young people’s interest in the liberated territories and encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
